Courageous Advocacy

Children and Young People are integral to building a fairer and more sustainable world for everyone. Courageous Advocacy equips them with the skills, tools, confidence, and opportunity to speak up and take action on issues of justice. Courageous Advocacy is an integral part of the Church of England Education Office’s vision for education.

We help our pupils to understand that a courageous advocate is someone who supports, champions and speaks up for a cause that is important and meaningful to them (e.g. Greta Thundberg). We build their confidence so that they have the courage to persevere and stand up for something or someone they believe in, so that they can make a difference.

Every Friday children lead our collective worship. Recently they have been creating their own posters about a good cause they want to support and to make a difference about. Each week they share these with the whole school. The conversations and questions that these posters for change have led to have helped pupils from all age groups to join in. The spark inside them has well and truly been lit 🙂
