Stapleford Forest School

At Stapleford Primary School we are lucky to be surrounded by the beautiful Woodhall Park Country Estate. The Abelsmith family, who own the estate and have a long history of working with the school, kindly allow us to use their gorgeous woodlands for our Forest School.

Each week our pupils visit the woodland to attend lessons led by our experienced Forest School Leader. This is not just den building! A forest school is so much more.

Recent activities have included:

  • Safety recall
  • Indentifying plants
  • Collecting wild garlic to make garlic bread on the open fire
  • Cooking spaghetti bolognese over the fire
  • Melting pewter to make key fobs
  • Making and tasting wild garlic pesto (no nuts)
  • Exploring a carpet of bluebells
  •  Bluebell wood
  •
